Caught it during the opening ceremony! It was the most spectacular “anything” I’ve ever seen on TV. Absolutely incredible!
Then I happened to watch the U.S. men’s 4×100 swim relay. I was actually trying to unwind before going to sleep. The adrenaline rush kept me up an extra hour! Witnessing athletes like Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt has been very inspiring to say the least.
This has sparked a brilliant idea! I too, would like to become an Olympian and represent my country! Here’s what I’m thinking. I need to qualify for an event that I can handle. Here it is….
This is a Winter Olympics event called curling. The two dudes with the brooms are called sweepers. In high school, I worked at a store called Holiday Mart. I gained an invaluable year of experience sweeping the floor. My only problem now is the skating part. If I start taking lessons now…. (there’s a beginner’s class being offered at the Ice Palace) there’s no telling how far I can go in the sport.
See you in Vancouver in 2010!
I have a big puka in my tv viewing schedule now (but not big enough to train for my own sport!) I’ll pencil you in for 2010… =0)
