The Star-Advertiser, Honolulu’s only newspaper, recently implemented a subscription policy to their website. Aside from the fee (approximately 13¢ per day,) it’s the principle of the thing. I’m just too tight to pay for something that I believe should be free. Of course they would do this at the start of the UH football season (which probably sells their papers at the newsstands.)
Here’s my thought….
It’s an opportunity for Ka Leo, the University’s newspaper, to step up. Although they are not a daily, they could still be the primary source for UH football. By beefing up their sports section with exclusive coverage and multimedia, they could become huge.
C’mon Ka Leo, be the voice….
