Everybody loves pizza. Me too. I’ve had awesome pizza in New York and Rome. People think that we don’t have good pizza in Hawai’i. I think we do have a couple of good places. Here are my Top 5:

5. I stumbled upon Kiawe Pizza at the Honolulu Night Market in Kaka’ako. Hot, fresh, simple, and satisfying!

4. Big Kahuna’s Pizza near the airport is still around and still popular. I actually don’t care for toppings on my pizza, but this one works.

3. Buca di Beppo is a fave because it’s one of our regular go-to places. Be sure to get the Spicy Arrabbiata Pizza. The sweet, caramelized red onion balances the spicy sausage. Ono.

2. V-Lounge has long been considered Hawai’i’s best pizza. Unfortunately, they just recently shut down. They used to make authentic Neapolitan pies. The crew has now started up a new place in Kailua called Prima.

1. My #1 fave place by far is J.J. Dolan’s in Chinatown. Not even close. This pizza reminds me of what I had in New York. The crazy thing is that it’s probably the cheapest at $3.50 a slice.
