#POWWOWHawaii + #HNLnightmarket

Tonight was the POW! WOW! Hawai’i Finale at the Honolulu Night Market in Kaka’ako. It was a blast!

“POW WOW IS A GATHERING OF CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS THAT ENGAGES WITH THE BROADER COMMUNITY IN THE PROCESS AND CREATION OF ART.”

On my walk over, I came across this wall. This piece is actually in 3-D. A girl there let me borrow one of those paper 3-D movie glasses. It really worked!

This mural is across from the Mother Waldron Park.

This one is behind the courts.

The artists were super cool and very appreciative.

Angry panda?

Some of the tools of the trade.

This is Fresh Café, my fave café in town. I actually worked on some of my projects from here.

This one is close to the UFC Gym. Love looking at this stuff.

Found myself in a “selfie zone.” Didn’t know what else to do….

At the Night Market, there were food booths, entertainment stages, pop-up boutiques, and even a fashion show. I had the Lamb Kebab Pita from Kan Zaman for dinner. It was ono!

This is near Lana Lane Studios.

This one is eye-popping! Click to enlarge.

There were DJs and more activity at the studio. POW! WOW! were selling their merch here.

Checked out the pop-up shops at the Kaka’ako Agora and visited with the Kamehameha Surf Team. They had a booth there. Ran into a few friends along the way. Had a really great time at Night Market! Oh yah, Happy Valentine’s….

Pow! Wow! Hawai’i 2014

Pow! Wow! Hawai’i 2014 is going down this week in Kaka’ako. “POW WOW IS A GATHERING OF CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS THAT ENGAGES WITH THE BROADER COMMUNITY IN THE PROCESS AND CREATION OF ART.” (Click on the pic to enlarge to full size.) Here’s my blog post of last year’s event.

Walked from my condo towards Fresh Café. This was the first mural I saw. The artist was there, and we talked story. In fact, all of the artists were friendly and appreciative.

Here’s my friend Kamea doing his magic at the Fresh Café.

Here’s some of the work at Mother Waldron Park.

This artist was directly across the street from the park.

It was quite the party.

This little shop had some cool art on it.

Made my way towards Lana Lane.

Enjoyed an impromptu concert at the Pow! Wow! School of Music.

Then made my way towards Ala Moana Blvd.

Can’t get enough of this….

This was my favorite wall. (Click to enlarge.)

Had a nice afternoon walk through Kaka’ako. The culminating Block Party will coincide with Honolulu Night Market this Saturday night. Gonna be epic. See you there….

Pow Wow Hawai’i is going down this week in Kaka’ako. And it’s pretty amazing…. “POW WOW IS A GATHERING OF CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS THAT ENGAGES WITH THE BROADER COMMUNITY IN THE PROCESS AND CREATION OF ART.”

Here are a few of the murals near the Mother Waldron Park.

Be careful where you park. Haha. Love the painting on the sidewalk as well. Nice touch….

This mural of King David Kalākaua is at the Lana Lane Studios.

Here’s my friend Kamea doing his magic.

The Pow Wow Hawai’i block party coincided with the Honolulu Night Market. This mural is next to the Pinch of Salt warehouse on Auahi Street. There were pop-up boutiques inside.

The streets were packed with food trucks, art vendors, and DJs. I had a nice plate of Onda Pasta and a slice of Kiawe Pizza.

Had an #artrageous time!
